During the School Board meeting on Thursday, March 27, 2025, the Suffolk City School Board passed Superintendent Dr. John Gordon III's $244.5 million budget for fiscal year 2025-2026. The proposed budget was presented at the school board meeting on Thursday, February 27, 2025, in the amount of $244,554,074, which includes $82,332,201 of city funding. The School Board and City Council will have a joint meeting on Wednesday, April 9 at 5 p.m. in the City Hall Chamber to discuss the request.

Lakeland High School, King's Fork High School and Nansemond River High School have announced their graduation ceremony schedules for the upcoming commencement day on Saturday, May 31, 2025. Doors will open one hour before each ceremony begins, offering attendees ample time to find seating and enjoy the festivities.
