What is S.T.A.R.?
An opportunity for Suffolk Public Schools Juniors and Seniors, with approved work hour in their second semester schedules, to participate in a paid, high-quality work-based learning experience working within several of our school division's departments.Applications for our Suffolk Public Schools S.T.A.R. (Start Today and Rise) student internship program are now available exclusively for 2023-2024 Juniors and Seniors. Working within several of our school division’s departments gives students a high-quality work-based learning experience during the school year.
Applications are available starting Friday, November 17th through Tuesday, December 5th. Internship start dates will vary but are anticipated to begin in mid-January 2024 upon our return for the new year. Students will intern from January - June 2024. The starting pay is $15.11. Students must have an approved work hour in their schedule, and if selected to participate in the program, they will need to secure their own transportation.
