United Way Volunteers Support College & Career Academy During Annual "Day of Action"
On Friday, April 25, volunteers from the United Way of South Hampton Roads brought energy, tools, and teamwork to our Suffolk Public Schools’ College & Career Academy as part of their annual “Day of Action.”
The group helped prepare the school’s grounds for spring, donating both materials and services aimed at enhancing the campus’s curb appeal. Their efforts not only beautified the exterior but also created a unique hands-on learning opportunity for students enrolled in the Academy’s Utility and Heavy Construction program.
Through their participation, students were able to apply classroom knowledge to real-world projects, working alongside community volunteers on tasks that aligned with their career pathways.
Suffolk Public Schools extends its gratitude to the United Way and all volunteers for their commitment to education, workforce readiness, and community service. To view more photos from this event, visit our SPS Division Photos Gallery.
