Suffolk Public Schools Invites Applications for 2025–26 Role Model Program

Suffolk Public Schools is now accepting applications for its 2025–2026 Role Model Program, a unique opportunity offered through the Department of Special Education (SPED). The program is designed to support inclusive learning environments by bringing together typically developing children and their peers with disabilities in Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) classrooms. Selected role models will participate in a modified version of the Preschool curriculum featured in the Early Start program. This adapted curriculum emphasizes cognitive and social development, while also nurturing independence and peer interaction. Role models play a key part in fostering a supportive and enriching educational experience for all students.

Admission to the Role Model Program is determined through an application and interview process. Placement for accepted students is based on their zoned school. Families interested in applying or learning more about the program are encouraged to visit www.spsk12.net/rolemodels.
