Suffolk Public Schools Partners with "Food for Good" to Deliver Free Summer Meals
We are proud to announce our continued commitment to student well-being by participating in a vital summer nutrition initiative aimed at combating food insecurity among children in our rural and underserved areas. With support from Food for Good, a national initiative focused on expanding meal solutions in rural regions, our Suffolk Public Schools Food and Nutrition Service Department will provide ten-day boxes of nutritious, shelf-stable meals delivered every other week to your home via UPS.
This program specifically addresses the challenges faced by families in rural communities, where transportation barriers often prevent children from accessing our traditional summer meal sites. Deliveries will take place every other week from June 9 through August 18, 2025. Each household will receive one box per qualifying child, containing meals that meet or exceed USDA nutritional standards. The program is open to children 18 years of age and younger who reside in the city of Suffolk.
To participate, families must reside within the City of Suffolk, and sign up by completing the 2025 Summer Food Service Meal Delivery form. Submissions after August 11 will not be guaranteed. For more information or assistance with signing up, please contact our SPS Food and Nutrition Services Department at 757-925-5789. By leveraging innovative delivery solutions and community partnerships, we can continue to support our students year-round—ensuring that no child goes hungry during the summer break.
