Welcome to Northern Shores Elementary School
The staff at Northern Shores Elementary looks forward to supporting your military connected child and family. It is with great pride and appreciation for all military families we want to welcome you and build a supportive partnership. We have various ways to work together.
Northern Shores has the Anchored for Life student transition program which helps students to be happier, resilient, and more confident kids. Change is sometimes challenging, but this program helps kids to have the ability to bounce back from experiences like frequent moving, deployment, navigating a new school, and making friends. Contact Maria Eiring, school counselor and Anchored for Life contact at (757) 923-4169 or mariaeiring@spsk12.net.
Another supportive person at NSES is our full time Military and Family Life Counselor Ms. Ebony Wright. MFLCs can help children and families with school adjustment, deployment and separation, reunion adjustment, sibling and parent-child communication, and behavioral concerns. Our MFLC is eager to assist our military connected families on any school day.
Throughout the school year we are excited to honor our military connected students at Northern Shores Elementary School! Here are additional resources you can access as a military family:
