    Clubs Descriptions:

     

    • Connections Club
      • The Connections Club is a nondenominational Christian club that brings the students in our school together. This club was requested by the students. It is a great place to make new friends and have a safe environment to get away from the drama of everyday life and share your faith. We are trying to create leaders and form stronger relationships within our school and community.
      • The Connections Club promotes Christianity, positive relationships, a spirit of community & love, and diversity & acceptance of all. We meet on alternating Tuesdays after school to participate in interactive lessons, enjoy fellowship while having a snack, and to work on ways we can benefit the common good.

     

    • Crime Stoppers, "Hawk Eyes" : (Starting date TBD) The “Hawk Eyes” is a new unique initiative, focused on student involvement in keeping their school safe.
      • It is a proactive program that addresses crimes that have been committed at school and in the community.
      •  It’s a joint effort between the Suffolk Police Department, Suffolk Public Schools, Crime Stoppers and the community to keep our schools safe.
      • This program teaches a proactive not reactive approach to administrators, students, parents and the community by publicizing a safer school environment.
      • Students will learn responsibility and character development.
      • Students meet briefly with the School Resource Officer, Officer Leslie and the student Crime Stoppers Faculty Advisor, Ms. K. Reid, during school hours.
      • These meetings will not affect their core classes or academics.
      • Every student in the Hawk Eyes is assigned a club responsibilities and earn community service hours through their participation and experience.

    • Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) : 
      •  What is FBLA? FBLA is the premier organization for students preparing for careers in business. Through FBLA, members gain the competitive edge for career and/or college success. By taking advantage of the many programs FBLA offers, students acquire the skills that set them apart from the average middle school student.
      • What does FBLA do? FBLA provides the business leaders of tomorrow with the necessary skills to successfully compete in the job market, pursue post-secondary education, or manage personal skills. Members learn how to lead and participate in group discussions by engaging in practical problem-solving and decision-making activities. FBLA members learn the value of competition through directed competitive events.
      • Why Join FBLA-PBL?  Enhance self-confidence and leadership skills through chapter leadership activities; Sharpen public speaking skills by leading discussions, presenting workshops, and giving speeches; Build friendships through chapter team activities and at conferences; Apply money management techniques by developing chapter and project budgets; Participate in conferences and workshops on leadership skills, image, etiquette, time management, goal setting, decision making and career development; Complete community service activities by working with such organizations as Autism Speaks and the March of Dimes.

    • Girls on the Run, Heart & Sole: Girls on the Run offers programs designed to inspire girls of all abilities to recognize and embrace their inner strength and make meaningful connections with others. Trained coaches use physical activity and dynamic discussions to build social, emotional and physical skills while encouraging healthy habits for life. Our Heart & Sole middle school program offers an inclusive place of belonging, where team members feel supported and inspired to explore their emotions, cultivate empathy and strengthen their physical and emotional health. At the end of the season, all program participants complete a non-competitive 5K.

     

    • Greet Squad : Greet Squad is a group of students who welcome new Hawks to our school. They show them around the building, introduce them to fellow students, faculty, and staff. Greet Squad members help new students to have a smooth transition.

    • Ladies of Distinction:
      • Transforming our children's lives to strengthen their resolve to become more productive citizens through positive Cultural, Educational and Leadership experiences. 
      • Vision: To see confident, holistically healthy girls who fulfill their maximum potential in every area of their lives.
      • Mission: We encourage, empower and equip girls to be holistically healthy and strong; educationally, emotionally, socially, and physically.

    • National Junior Beta Club :
      • MISSION STATEMENT: To promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service and leadership among elementary and secondary school students.
        • ACHIEVEMENT - Recognizing and honoring high academic achievement
        • CHARACTER - Preparing young people for life and empowering them to be successful
        • LEADERSHIP - Developing the leaders of tomorrow
        • SERVICE - Demonstrating our motto: Let Us Lead by Serving Others

    • National Junior Honor Society: Provides an outstanding opportunity to grow with academically accomplished peers who are sharpening the habits needed for success in high school and beyond.
      • REQUIREMENTS:

        • Interested in community service

    • Student Council Association (SCA) :  Student Council is an organization designed to give students an opportunity to accept responsibility and learn leadership skills to apply in real-life situations. One representative, elected from each homeroom, and officers of the Col. Fred Cherry Student Council represent their student body and help in planning exciting events for the school.

    • Yearbook : Whether you're into graphic design, photography, or just love arranging things beautifully, there's a spot for you in our club.
      • Our mission is to skillfully curate a visual narrative that not only encapsulates the academic year but also celebrates the unique personalities, accomplishments, and shared experiences that make our middle school journey unforgettable. Through collaborative teamwork, creativity, and attention to detail, we aim to produce a yearbook that not only stands as a testament to our collective journey but also fosters a sense of pride and unity within our school.
