    Students who want to work to improve the appearance of a vehicle are artistic and creative, pay strong attention to detail, and enjoy working with machinery and tools, should explore exciting training and career opportunities in the collision repair industry!

    The Auto Body Technology (ABT) program is a one (1) year program that prepares students to enter the workforce upon graduation in a variety of settings and/or continue training through post-secondary education programs to become Specialists and Master Technicians.

    The program provides students the knowledge and hands-on experience needed to perform basic body repairs on today’s automobiles, and to apply paint another types of finishes to the repaired vehicle body.

    Participation in the program prepares students to earn ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification in Painting and Refinishing and Non-Structural Analysis and Damage Repair.

    Employment Outlook:     Employment of automotive body and glass repairers is expected to grow 8 percent from 2016 to 2026, about as fast as the average for all occupations. Those with formal training and industry certification should have very good job opportunities.
