About Us

  • The College and Career Academy at Pruden

The College & Career Academy at Pruden (CCAP) is a Career and Technical and Adult Education Center.

Welcome to the Home of the Falcons! CCAP serves Suffolk Public Schools' sophomores, juniors, and seniors who attend Lakeland, Nansemond River, and King’s Fork High Schools. Students are eligible to register for 17 exciting Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs as a component of their free and appropriate public education experience, earning credit for their high school and college education. Programs are taught on a two-and-a-half-hour block schedule. In some programs, it is possible to earn verified credits toward graduation by successfully passing industry or state certification/licensure examinations approved by the Virginia Department of Education.

CCAP’S Adult Education Program promotes the concept of life-long learning, offering the General Educational Development Program (GED), Adult Basic Education (ABE), and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) programs, as well as computer, CPR/First Aid, special interest, and career training programs.

Whether the student is interested in pursuing a college degree, industry certification, career enhancement or life-long learning, enrolling in a CCAP program is a valuable first step for students in preparation for the careers of their choice.

The mission of The College and Career Academy at Pruden is to provide students with career opportunities designed to promote personal and professional development, lifelong-learning experiences and enhanced quality of life via career and technical instruction for preparation and integration into the global economic community.

It is the vision of The College & Career Academy at Pruden to provide a rigorous program of studies to prepare students for success in a global economy through the attainment of high standard credentials, workplace readiness skills and applied learning.
