    SUMMER SERIES DATES: July 1, 2024 - August 1, 2024

    SUMMER SCHOOL HOURS: 7:30 AM - 12:00 PM

     

    MONDAY - THURSDAY

     

    REGISTRATION


    Registration will be completed by base school counselors and/or administrators based on applications received and need.     Transportation will be provided for all Summer Series students.

     

    TUITION

     

    Tuition is free for Suffolk Public Schools students.

     

    COURSES

     

    The following courses will be offered in the 2024 Middle School Summer Series Programs.

     

    Summer School & Summer Academy Courses

    English 6

    English 7

    English 8

    Math 6

    Math 7

    Math 8 (Pre-Algebra) 

    Science 6

    Science 7 (Life Science)

    Science 8 (Physical Science)


    *All Science classes will be virtual

    History 6

    History 7 (Civics)  

    History 8 (Geography)


    *All History classes will be virtual

    Students who failed both English and Math will be enrolled in our SPS Summer Academy Program. Students in this program will receive in-person instruction daily Monday - Thursday in both content areas.


    Students who failed either English or Math will be enrolled in our SPS Middle School Summer Program.  Students in this program will receive in-person instruction daily Monday - Thursday. 


    Students who failed either Science or History, but not math or English, will be enrolled in virtual classes. Students in this program will receive virtual instruction four days per week.

    SUMMER SCHOOL & SUMMER ACADEMY SCHEDULE

     

    The Middle School Summer Program will be offered in a face-to-face or virtual format (depending on the class(es) taken) for the 2024 summer session. Students do not have the option of selecting summer courses or sections. The staff will assign students to courses and sections based on enrollment.

    PARTICIPATION

     

    Students taking virtual courses are required to work on their online modules daily, as their progress will be monitored by teachers. At any time, if a student fails to make adequate progress, they risk having their course(s) canceled and failing for the summer. There will be NO SUMMER SOL testing this year for Middle School students.

    Students enrolled in the Suffolk Public Schools Middle School Summer Program and Summer Academy are expected to follow the rules and regulations enforced during the regular school year.
