The application window is now open for 2024 - 2025 rising juniors and seniors of Suffolk Public Schools to participate in The S.T.A.R. (Start Today and Rise) summer student internship program.

What is S.T.A.R?: The Suffolk Public Schools S.T.A.R program is an opportunity for rising junior and senior students to participate in a paid, high-quality, work-based learning experience working within several of the school division departments. Students benefit greatly from high-quality work-based learning experiences as they allow them to seamlessly translate the workplace readiness skills acquired in the classroom into real-world applications. These experiences serve as a bridge, enabling students to demonstrate their abilities, adaptability, and professionalism in authentic work settings, ultimately preparing them for successful careers.

We are now accepting applications for student employment from individuals with pre-established work hours in their school schedules. The starting pay is $15.80 per hour. Students are responsible for providing their own transportation to and from their assigned worksites.

    Participating departments:
    Communications and Community Engagement
    Facilities & Planning
    Food & Nutrition Services
    Finance
    Human Resources
